One of the biggest struggles in the service industry is accounting, which is why we are thrilled to announce that Erin Higgins will be joining Operations Excellence as our new Administrative Assistant. Erin comes to us with a background in accounting that started in college, where she earned a degree in the field. After graduation, she began her first job at a small grain elevator. It was there that she mastered A/P, A/R, counter sales with customers, and accounting system coordination, helping her employer transition from paper/pencil to a fully paperless software system.
After that position, she moved to an industrial refrigeration company, again doing A/P, A/R, HR, payroll, and safety work, communicating closely with customers, employees, and contractors alike. For the last 10 years, she has worked for a private optometry proactive with five locations, assisting with insurance billing, A/P, and A/R. For four years she was also President of the State Association for Technicians in Optometry, helping to advocate for the education and certification of professionals in that industry. Erin spends most of her free time with her husband, Ron, and their two daughters, Morgan and Lydia. They like to travel and be outdoors and enjoy hanging out with family and friends.
